THE SOUND SANCTUARY
The Sound Sanctuary is a circular building set on beautiful land in Accord, NY, with the mission of creating gatherings that deepen community, connect us with Nature and our own inner wisdom, and cultivate resonance in body, mind, and spirit.
Its thoughtful design echoes its mission: cork floors and natural clay walls create an earthy coziness, and high ceilings and a domed top with a view of the sky, imbue the space with an open, transformative quality. Here, we are safe, coccooned, held by Mother Earth, while we also draw inspiration from our relationships to the celestial beings..
We host a variety of offerings here, including sound journeys, vocal embodiment sessions, workshops, and community gatherings based in deep listening, ritual, movement, somatics, music, and sound. Private events are also held here, including 1:1 and group sound journeys, and mentorship sessions.
We welcome individuals here of all genders, backgrounds, skin colors, ages, and life paths. This is a space where all are invited to come together, and through shared resonance, experience a sense of oneness and belonging. On that note, if one of our programs calls you, but the exchange is too much at this time, we invite you to reach out. There is always a way when the call is heard.
We acknowledge and honor that this sanctuary stands on the ancestral lands of the Lenape-Munsee people. We hold deep gratitude for the original stewards of this land, and seek to honor their legacy as we tend to the land and this gathering space.
We also honor the waters of this land - the Mombacus creek which flows through this land, and the spring-fed pond, in which we immerse and purify ourselves both in winter and summertime.
