Sound Bath for Grounding
We are by nature sound beings, made of vibration just like the world around us. It’s no surprise then, that we are all profoundly affected by our sonic environment - whether it’s the soothing sound of a cascading stream, or the noise of a jackhammer. Sound affects our nervous systems, our minds, and even our immune systems; it can put us into fight or flight, or help us settle into deep rest.
When we take time out of our busy, fast-paced, and often sonically chaotic lives to ground the body, mind, and heart through deep listening, we help ourselves slow down, regulate our nervous systems, and become more resourced for our lives.
In this 37-minute sound bath, designed to help you feel grounded and connected to yourself, you will:
⤀ Soften into a grounding, relaxed belly breath, so that you signal safety in your body to relax and receive the healing vibrations
⤀ Engage in a short toning practice – quite simply, humming – so that you experience your own vibration in your body, and prepare your body to receive the vibrations of the instruments
⤀ Practice deep listening, so that you fully receive the sounds of the shruti box, Himalayan bowls, Monolina, tuning forks, and my voice, which resonate with healing frequencies
⤀ Integrate the practice by coming back to the body slowly with mindful breath, so that you can take the feelings of ease you’ve cultivated into the rest of your day.
