I love collaborating with visual artists, and was particularly drawn to this one, both because of its ocean-inspired theme and seaside locale. (I rarely refuse an opportunity to drink in the salty air of mama ocean.) As part of Michelle’s show “Fathom,” I’ll be creating an ocean-inspired sound experience, weaving together voice, and rhythm and drone instruments that emulate the ebb and flow of ocean waves. We’ll awaken our inner vision by taking in the art, then close our eyes and expand our capacity to listen. Take time to visit the beach, for the ultimate sand-between-the-toes trifecta.
