sound baths
Sound baths are meditative journeys grounded in deep listening, where sound is both the anchor and alchemy of the experience. Through the use of voice, drone, and overtone-producing instruments that help to downshift our brain wave states, participants can experience a wide range of therapeutic benefits, including deep relaxation, tension release, clarity of mind, awakening of creativity and intuition, and connection to higher self.
My sound journeys typically open with a short meditation guiding the group through intention-setting, connecting with breath and sound, and deep listening. Participants then move into a supported supine pose to receive the sound optimally. Using my voice, drone instruments like shruti box and Monolina, medicine drum, tuning forks, chimes, and Himalayan and crystal singing bowls, I weave a soundscape that opens the doorway to healing, transformation, and manifestation.
I’ve had the honor of offering sound for all kinds of events: weddings, baby showers and Blessing Ways, corporate retreats, yoga/wellness retreats, art and business openings, women’s circles, cacao ceremonies, and company gatherings. Healing sound helps to bring groups into a state of resonance, creating more coherence, ease, and connection that translates into a more expansive experience for participants.
Sound is our nature
While the “sound bath” is a contemporary phenomenon, working with sound as a
tool for healing and transformation is as old as time. We are, at our core, “sound
beings,” made of vibration. By tapping into the alchemy of sound, we hold a key
to shifting our thoughts, emotions, and perceptions, and tuning ourselves to a
frequency that serves not just the individual, but the collective.
sound baths are like snowflakes
While I use similar instruments for my sound experiences, no two sound baths are
alike. Each is a spontaneous co-creation between me, the participants and even
the instruments themselves. I’m guided by my intuition, the practice of deep
listening, and my highest intention of creating a sacred space for each individual
to receive exactly what they need from the experience.
